Imagine your new home - a short 45-minute drive from Denver, you get the best of both worlds in scenic Platteville. It’s a peaceful place to settle down, raise a family or retire. With its close proximity to Denver, you still have access to all the amenities you need, and all the entertainment options you desire less than an hour away.

Community

Activities at your doorstep- literally

If a 45-minute drive to Denver isn’t appealing, don’t worry. There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained in the town of Platteville without ever having to commute! There is movie in the park days held periodically, where everyone and anyone are invited to come out and enjoy the show- an excellent way to keep your family entertained. Previously it was held in Lincoln Park, but with the current pandemic it has been moved to the parking lot of the ball fields to have a larger space.

Annual Harvest Daze event in August

It’s an excellent way to meet your neighbors and socialize with other members of your tight knit community. Every August Platteville celebrates Harvest Daze. And don’t worry - it’s not going anywhere. It’s been going on for more than 100 years. Originally it was known as Pickle Day, and has since changed to Harvest Daze. Back in 1910, Pickle Day included a duck shoot, free watermelon, a bronco riding display, and a barbeque – with the meat provided by local farmers. The menu? “Visitors will receive a plate and napkin, pickles, sandwiches, beef, tomatoes, salt and pepper and coffee.  After dinner, lemonade will be served without restriction as to quantity." Now, Harvest Daze focuses on a barbecue, cornhole tournament, music, a car show, and a beer garden, to name a few.
